Half of the time when full shot is applied the ball barely moves, yet for the computer it works fine. Could be fun if it worked properly.

seems the maker of this app wants to win all the time; does this with others in the series as well; no indication of how scoring is done; computer seems to take turns whenever it wants; computer shots are often nonsensical, make no sense as to purpose….going across the board without reason. Needs a “cleanup” and transparency. Glad I did’t pay for it. update, 03 2015 I recently began selecting two players This appears to take the game away from the control of the geek/computer design and allows for a more consistent game, fewer bungles, scoring is more obvious, doesnt take advantage of player one way the one player choice does. Thus far, this seems to improve my enjoyment of the game.
This game would be much better if we could play it in landscape, and have a full-screen mode. Also, to be able to re-call your pocket after lining up your shots would be nice.
I love games I can win. As long as your expectations are that you would like a light, easy game, then this one is for you. It has a strange ai, maybe little or none, but that’s why I like it. If you are looking for competition, you will need to play a real friend. If you want a light fun game, play the computer.
jeez, i scratched every ball i knocked in, which is impossible. so the game gos! bye, bye!
While fun, this game is way too easy. I’m no pool shark in real life, but when I play this game, I’ve never once lost. I’m actually starting to find it impossible to even lose.
The program use to run great on Yosemite but the game can no longer be maximized on without losing half the screen.
Love this game! Some of the other people that commented about their losses need to read what the rules are! I don’t have any issues with “cheating” while playing the game.
It’s a nice little game, but it freezes every once in a while. At first I thought it was the fault of my old mid-2007 MacBook (Lion), but last week I got a 2015 MacBook Air (El Capitan) and redownloaded the game from my App Store account. Seems the problem still exists. But a Force-Quit solves it every time...
thought this game would be great, but apperently this game doesnt know how to play pool correctly
Just got through with my first full game. The graphics and the physics are very good! No help, and no score keeping, but it’s 8 Ball. The table tells it all. In 8 Ball, the player to get the first ball in determines stripes or solids. If you drop a striped ball, you are stripes. If you drop a solid ball, you are solids. If the computer drops one first, whatever he got, you are the opposite. On your turn, you must hit one of your balls first, but you can choose any ball to get in the pocket. Once all your balls are cleared, you must then make the 8 ball. You’ll have to call your pocket for the 8 ball. A lot of people in different regions play 8 Ball a little differently, but the differences are usually minor rule changes. For that reason, my short appraisal may have missed a rule or two. But all in all, it plays well. Use your right mouse button held down to adjust your aim. Aim can be fine tuned by the clockwise and counter-clockwise arrow buttons. Adjust the power with the meter on both the left and right. Shoot by pressing the Shoot button. Enjoy!
This game plays very realistic. I dont know what game one of the other reviewers was playing when they said the "AI" (computer) cheats by takeing extra turns and not giving them the correct number of shots? I think they dont know how to play pool because this game was spot-on! When I played, I broke and didnt get balls in, so during the AIs turn they got a "solid" in and shot again but missed. They did not take any extra turns. Next during my turn, I shot at one of my "strips" and got it in, then shot again and missed. Then the AI shot but didnt have anything good to hit and missed, then it was my turn … etc. Both my shots and the AIs shots were VERY REALISTIC. And the ball banking, angling, rolling and striking were VERY REALISTIC. I have played "8-ball, last pocket" pool for a long, long time, and when I played this game - it made me feel just like I was in a pool hall playing a real game. Excellent!!!
This is my favorite game in real life and in the gaming world honestly i havnt lost yet and im not sure are we playing against other players or just a regular computer if it is a computer its a bit easy for me and it seems like the computer is letting me win but overall it is addicting and fun and yes i would recommend this to others.
OK for a free version. Needs a win/loss score keeping ability. Full screen option unworkable, expands so large only half the table is on screen.
